Meet the Reiki Master
Megumi “Meg” Abiko
Meg began her practice in 1999 and has studied several Reiki lineages, choosing to focus her Reiki practice on Reiki Ryoho and Reiki Jin Kei Do.
An investigator by nature, Meg has spent decades exploring traditional Reiki alongside a variety of holistic practices. Her approach encourages curiosity, practical exploration, and discovering what resonates with each individual.

Reiki doesn’t have to exist in a box. Through Subeteni Kiku Reiki, students have opportunities to explore Reiki alongside complementary practices such as essential oils, crystals, energy work, and more.
The purpose isn’t to tell you which tools belong in your toolbox. It’s to give you opportunities to explore them, experience them, and choose what fits you.
Why Subeteni Kiku?
Subeteni Kiku means “embracing the whole person.”
The name also carries a deeply personal story. After the passing of Meg’s beloved Reiki Master, Gilbert Gallego, her family placed unopened white chrysanthemums at their shrine. As the flowers gradually blossomed, they became a reminder that a teacher’s wisdom, compassion, and love continue to unfold in those they touched.
The chrysanthemum became the heart of Subeteni Kiku Reiki—honoring those who came before us while continuing to explore and carry their teachings forward.

The Journey of a Reiki Master-Teacher
Becoming a Reiki Master-Teacher is both an honor and a lifelong responsibility. As a Master-Teacher, you are entrusted with sharing Reiki ethically, compassionately, and with integrity. Through your teaching and attunements, you pass on not only the practice of Reiki, but also the values, wisdom, and responsibilities that accompany it.
Receiving the Master-Teacher Degree is not the end of your Reiki journey—it is the beginning of a deeper one. Reiki is a lifelong path of learning, self-discovery, and personal growth. As your understanding continues to deepen, so too will your ability to guide and inspire others.
The greatest lesson you offer your students is not found in a manual or a classroom—it is found in the way you live. By embodying the Five Reiki Principles in your daily life and approaching each day with humility, compassion, and gratitude, you become a living example of Reiki in action.
